Low-Key Bachelorette Weekend Ideas

When I asked my best friend to be my maid of honor, it was followed by a long conversation about bachelorette weekend ideas and what style I wanted and what I wanted to do and all I could think was… ALL OF IT! Then, I became realistic and started trying to think of some fun bachelorette party ideas that:

  1. Won’t break the bank
  2. Don’t require alcohol to have fun
  3. Everyone will enjoy

I had a wide range of bridesmaids, from my sister, to friends I’ve know almost my whole life, to my sorority sister, to my cousin, to my future sister-in-law. I wanted them to all be able to come and have fun, but on a teacher’s salary, we gotta be smart. So, I want to share my ideas and hear of the ones you might have to add.

Beach Weekend

A beach bachelorette weekend is a little basic, I’m not going to lie, it seems like every bride in the history of weddings does a beach trip for their bachelorette weekend.

One of my best friends did a beach bash bachelorette weekend and it was so much fun relaxing on the beach, eating too much seafood, doing karaoke, and getting the cheesy shirts and floaties.

On top of this, if everyone pitches in, its not an expensive trip and its relaxing. This is what we ended doing for my bachelorette weekend in Orange Beach. To read more about it, click here.

Mountains Retreat

For those of us that do not like sand on every inch of our body, you can go for the mountain retreat. Shopping, spa days, board games, hiking, and comfort food sound like a great girls getaway.

This is definitely more low-key and for the bride that wants to focus on spending time with her girls, relaxing, and still go on an adventure. Depending on where you go and what activities you do, this trip could get more expensive. Refresh, unwind from planning, and relax in the mountains for your bachelorette weekend.

Glamping

Are you a try something new bride and never done before bride? Then glamping is for you! This is the new rage right now, camping, but in nice “tents” that do not make you rough it. It would be a trip to remember and if you love being outdoors and adventurous, this would be great!

Girls Day Out

Spa day? Why not! Sips and strokes? Sure! All the fun foods? Obviously! There are so many possibilities for a girls day out and the best part about this type of bachelorette party is it is easy for your bridesmaids to plan around and be there.

One of my best friends did this for her bachelorette party and it was so much fun. We got dressed up, took pictures, went to one of the places that will lead you to paint a picture, munched on good food, and then went back to her house for ice cream, movies, and a lingerie shower.

It was a great time and we got to take something home from it – our painting! Several of her bridesmaids were from out of town, but everyone was able to come, because it was only one day.

Small Town or Big City?

If you are thinking that none of these quite fit your personality, then why not just go to a new city and explore! There are so many fun towns and cities, where you can meet new people, do touristy things, eat at exotic restaurants, and explore. If there is anywhere new you have wanted to go, then this is the perfect time!

I highly recommend the following places:

Savannah, Georgia – You can find my travel guide for Savannah and packing list to help you plan.

St. Augustine, Florida – To find a list of things to do, click here.

Tourist in Your Town

Trying to save money? Research different tourist spots and locations around your hometown. Many times there are plenty of fun activities that when you live somewhere you never go do, but why not experience your hometown with your girls.

Splurge and go to the new restaurant that is a little too expensive, buy tickets to the upcoming concert. Stay at your house and save the money or find a cute bed and breakfast to stay at and really be on vacation. An affordable and fun bachelorette weekend.

There are so many different options for bachelorette weekends, do not feel like you have to do what everyone else is doing. Make your bachelorette party fit your personality and have fun with your girls. What bachelorette parties have you gone to that were a hit?
