Must Bring #1: Stylish walking shoes

Savannah, GA is a walking, pedestrian friendly city and whether you choose to take a trolley tour or conquer the town by foot, you will be walking a lot.

I am a believer in making sure your feet are happy, so please do not bring heels, you will die. Instead, choose some stylish walking shoes.

My personal favorites are white Ked’s, which may make me look 12, but I love. Also, these Teva’s, which I just recently got a pair of and am obsessed. I’ve recently invested in these good Asics and have been wearing them on all of our Disney World weekend. Check all out below!

Side Note: To all my teacher friends, these are great for the classroom!

Must Bring #2: Camera

Savannah, GA has to be one of the most picturesque places you will ever visit. Every corner you turn and every street you walk in Savannah is littered with hundreds of amazing picture spots.

Even if you aren’t an inspiring insta star, there are so many memories you will want to capture as you explore, so you cannot forget your camera.

I have a Canon Rebel T5, but it is an older model so I suggest the Canon Rebel T7. I am hoping to get one with Bluetooth capabilities soon. (If you have suggestions of which one, leave them in the comments!)

Must Bring #3: Sun hat

I have recently discovered the joy of a sun hat. Not only are they fashionable, they are practical in keeping the sun out of your eyes and off your face/shoulders (depending on how big of a hat you go).

I used to not like hats, but now I wear them all these time for these reasons. A plus is that they can cover up a bad hair day in two seconds.

Because it is so sunny in Savannah, GA, you will want to bring a sun hat with you as you explore to help with the heat and getting sunburnt. There are so many different styles depending on your taste.

I found a wonderful feminine one at TJ Maxx and For a more hipster flair, I wear the one of the two below, depending on whether it is summer or winter.

Many people also consider Charleston for a southern town weekend getaway. If you are debating which one to visit, read about my Savannah vs Charleston guide.

Must Bring #4: Casual classic sun dress

When I think of Savannah, GA, I think of a classic southern town and that makes me think of sundresses and sweet tea on the front porch. Although you may not get a front porch or sweet tea on your visit, a classic casual sun dress is a must-pack.

Since it is so hot, often in winter months too, wear a dress can keep you cool and not feel as sticky. Zaful is a great place to find good deals, but shipping takes forever so be warned. Some cute ideas below!

Must Bring #5: Denim skirt

I recently found a perfect denim skirt, after looking for years. I did not want something too tight, short, ripped, etc. which is really hard to find. But alas, Old Navy came through.

A denim skirt is a staple in any woman’s closet and on your packing list to Savannah, GA. It is versatile, easy to wash, and not too hot as your explore the city. Below is one similar from Amazon!

Must Bring #6: Versatile solid t-shirt

Probably my favorite pieces of clothing in my closet are my solid t-shirts. I wear them with everything and they are so versatile. Dress them up for work or a girls night out, be casual to go grocery shopping or for errands. The options are endless.

My favorite ones are from Old Navy. They are so soft, inexpensive, and do not shrink when you wash/dry them (can you say hallelujah?). I cannot find them on Amazon, but I linked the Old Navy one above. Below are some similar from Amazon.

Of course these are only a few of many items that you will need on your trip to Savannah, but they create a foundation for you to build your outfits and packing list around.

You are right. It gets so hot in Savannah, especially the summer. And your choices are perfect for the heat, and for looking super cute. I need that printable.

Great list, for me the key ones are really comfortable shoes and a good sun hat that protects my head and face — I get sunstroke too easily so it’s an important one for me!

I liked Savannah a lot. I visited a museum there, I think it used to be an old police station and now it is a museum on black heritage. That topic was still big down there, as a European, I was actually shocked.

I think you need to add appetite to the list. There was so much delicious food when we were there. It think we went to the Crab Shack on the water which was amazing. Definitely worth a visit. Great list too!

Water bottle! Its extremely hot during the summer. Try and bring an insulated one, like a Yeti. It will keep ice all day for when you need it!
